A wonderful commissioned piece from the young and talented lionsilverwolf! This is, as is my understanding, her first official commissioned work, so I am so excited to have had a chance in working with her. I am looking forward to doing more in this genre.

This is the first in a new series of pieces exploring Pinnacle's Savage World's setting: Evernight. For more information about Pinnacle check here: [link] For more on the setting of Evernight, see this: [link]

In the caverns under the White Towns, several clans of dwarves make their homes. Their long lives (about 200 years or so) are filled with toil and constant struggle, and they are, though short of stature, a hearty people. Their relatively recent development of gunpowder (250 years) has allowed them to protect their towns with increasing effectiveness, and they have spread throughout Valusia, south of the Dread Mountains.

Borghild is a rarity amongst her people. While all female dwarves are trained as warriors for the protection of the clan homes, she one of the few who has taken up the wandering warrior's life. She was unhappy with the mere basic and insular life of the hearth and home, and she took a very active interest in all things military, especially gunpowder. She loved the smell of the oil barrel and seasoned wood of a fine musket, and was reputed to be one of the best marksmen in her burg. Her clan was small and poor, and she dreaded the future of being a wife of a low-born barrel-pusher with several screaming children. Her parents argued against her desire to see the world, and eventually disowned her for her "wild behavior" and "persistent rebelliousness." Soon after, her fate was sealed after a tragic shooting accident -- a musket she was firing exploded, leaving half her face badly scarred. With nothing in the way of a dowry and no clan connection, her prospects for marriage or livelihood were negligible at best. Infected with a human-like wanderlust, Borghild left her home to seek her fortunes as a gun-for-hire in the human kingdom of Valusia. She traveled the great distance to King's Port, the reputed City of Adventures, in hopes of making a name for herself. Soon after, she met and befriended a group of like-minded individuals who began their career as heroic adventures.

Thank you for stopping by!
